Information About the Retreat Centres

  • Buddhafield Camping Retreats

    Buddhafield retreats are put on by Order members, Mitras and members of the Triratna Buddhist Community. The programme runs throughout the summer months offering a range of retreats, including those geared for newcomers, family retreats and month-long silent meditation retreats. Events are for men and women, unless otherwise specified.

  • Dhanakosa Retreat Centre

    Dhanakosa is a Buddhist, Meditation and Yoga retreat centre in Scotland, an ideal place for learning meditation and complimentary activities like yoga, tai chi, hillwalking, and shiatsu.
    Dhanakosa sits by the shores of Loch Voil in the Balquhidder valley, and is surrounded by the magnificent mountains and forests of the southern Scottish Highlands. 15 miles from Callander and only one and a half hours drive from Glasgow or Edinburgh, Dhanakosa is easily accessible by public transport and provides a quiet and beautiful setting for retreats.
  • Padmaloka Retreat Centre

    Padmaloka is a Buddhist retreat centre for men and hosts a wide variety of retreats exploring Buddhism, Buddhist Meditation and yoga. The retreats at Padmaloka are suitable for all levels of experience, from beginners to advanced, and you don't have to be a Buddhist to benefit from them.
    Surrounded by English countryside and woodland nature reserves Padmaloka provides a quiet and beautiful setting for courses and retreats.
    Travel to Padmaloka is easy by public transport. We are 7 miles from Norwich (Norfolk) and one hour 40 minutes direct train from London.
  • Rivendell Retreat Centre

    Rivendell is a Buddhist retreat centre in Sussex, in south-east England, within easy reach of London and Brighton. They offer a varied programme of meditation retreats throughout the year. Rivendell lies in the rolling Sussex countryside, on the edge of Ashdown Forest. The house is set in beautiful spacious gardens, with ponds and woods. From here there are many lovely country walks.
    Each year Rivendell provides a wide variety of retreats, for those completely new to meditation or for those who have committed their lives to Buddhist practice.
    At its heart is a team of members of the Western Buddhist Order, who live together as a community, working to maintain Rivendell.
  • Taraloka Retreat Centre

    Taraloka is a Retreat Centre for women and offers residential events throughout the whole year to women from all over the world. Our programme includes weekends for women new to Buddhism and meditation; yoga, writing or gardening retreats; and intensive study and meditation retreats attracting women practitioners from a variety of Buddhist traditions.
    The resident community at Taraloka aim to provide the best possible conditions for women to come on retreat. Good food, friendly and experienced retreat teams and beauty in the large grounds around the centre. The result is a place where people from very different walks of life find space to reflect on their experience, refresh themselves and perhaps recharge their batteries!
  • Tiratanaloka Retreat Centre

    Tiratanaloka is a Buddhist retreat centre for women and is situated in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
    It is run by community of eight women living a vision exploring the Buddhism through friendship, teamwork and the retreats. These retreats are for Dharmacharinis (Ordained members) and women training for ordination.
    The Tiratanaloka Ordination Team is dedicated to provide teachings and training to enable more and more women to enter the Western Buddhist Order.
  • Vajraloka Retreat Centre

    Vajraloka retreat centre is dedicated to Buddhist meditation practice. It is set in the beautiful valley of the River Alwen, amidst woods, rolling hills and rocky out crops. Vajraloka is both isolated and quiet, and is ideal for people who want to deepen their experience of meditation.
    Going on a meditation retreat at Vajraloka is an excellent opportunity to learn Buddhist meditation from some of the UK’s top instructors. At Vajraloka you will receive encouragement, guidance and support to take your meditation practice deeper.
  • Vajrasana Retreat Centre

    Vajrasana is the London Buddhist Centre's retreat venue in Suffolk. They run a wide variety of retreats exploring Buddhism, Meditation, Yoga and the Arts. The beautiful countryside makes this an ideal location. The retreats cater for anything from ten to forty people.
    Vajrasana is set in rolling Suffolk 'hills' with lots of good walks all round. There are two large paddocks in which we are currently planting over two hundred trees. The shrine room was built using a special ecological straw bale technique. There are also two huts available for people who wish to retreat on their own.
